Welcome to RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy. We look forward to helping your child with their physical, occupational, speech and applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy needs. Our highly-trained clinical team will design a specialized plan of care that is just right for your child. Through experience, advanced clinical training and clear communication with our patients and their parents, our therapy team will assist your child in achieving their highest potential by reaching their developmental milestones for school, activity and life.

Our Crystal Lake Center offers specialized programs including: feeding therapy (using an SOS approach), infant feeding, concussion rehabilitation and Foundations for Learning Early Learning Program. Learn more about our programs here.

We are also pleased to offer patients access to our specialized CoreVia Pelvic Health program. CoreVia provides care - and relief - to men, women and children who experience pelvic floor dysfunction. Our highly skilled pelvic health physical therapists will help you feel your best.

We are conveniently located at the corner of Pingree and Rakow Roads with ample parking available. We are proud to serve you and are committed to providing an exceptional experience that promotes healing and enhances your child's participation in desired family, community and school activities.

Our Team

Brooke Seaquist, M.A., BCBA

Brooke has been a member of RUSH Kids since 2018, with 10 years of clinical experience working with kids with autism. She has worked in a therapeutic day school, in-home and outpatient health settings. Brooke has continuing education experience with toilet training, augmentative and alternative devices and behavior reduction. Brooke completed her undergraduate degree in psychology from Illinois State University followed by completing her master's degree in applied behavior analysis from Ball State University. In her free time, Brooke enjoys camping and spending time outside with her family and her dog.

Lauren Buzinski, M.S., BCBA

Lauren joined our team in 2020 after graduating from Southern Illinois University. She has clinical experience in outpatient, home and school settings. Lauren has experience with a variety of learning styles and specializes in applied behavior analysis (ABA). Services focus on a comprehensive approach to teaching everyday life skills, academic concerns and behavior management. Lauren also offers interactive parent training to help engage parents in client care and create a cooperative client experience. Lauren completed her undergraduate degree at Loyola University and moved onto to Southern Illinois University to receive her master's degree. Lauren has a passion for working with children and aiding in their overall growth and development.

Hannah Paul, M.S., BCBA

Hannah joined RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy in May 2019 as a behavior technician and advanced to registered behavior technician in October 2019. Hannah earned her master's degree in 2021. In February 2022 Hannah completed the board exam and became a board certified behavior analyst. Hannah enjoys spending time with her nephews, baking and doing home projects.

Amanda Helbling, MPT

Amanda earned her master's of physical therapy from Saint Louis University and has been practicing since 2000. She has furthered her knowledge by taking numerous continuing education courses. Amanda enjoys treating children from birth to 21 years of age and is passionate about involving the family and making therapy fun. She specializes in torticollis, toe walking, developmental delays and concussions.

Julia Tansor, P.T., DPT

Julia earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science followed by her doctorate of physical therapy from Saint Louis University. She has multiple years of experience working with children of all ages and various diagnoses. Julia has a passion for working with the pediatric population and enjoys being able to make a difference in the lives of her patients and their families. She also serves as the site coordinator of clinical education for pediatric physical therapy and occupational therapy, as well as adult occupational therapy, for RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy and RUSH Physical Therapy.

Madeline Johnson, P.T., DPT

Madeline earned a bachelor's degree in pre-physical therapy from the University of Dayton and doctorate of physical therapy from Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Madeline enjoys helping children of all ages and abilities reach their fullest potential seen through success within their daily environments. She utilizes a holistic approach to include a variety of treatment methods to foster a fun therapeutic environment that children look forward to participating in. She has experience working with patients from birth to age 16 with diagnoses including torticollis, orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, cerebral palsy and developmental delays. She utilizes evidence based practice and seeks out continuing education courses regularly to further enhance her practice.

Lauren Opatrny, P.T., DPT

Lauren has been a member of Rush Kids since August 2022. She earned her bachelor's degree in human physiology at the University of Iowa. She continued her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago for her physical therapy education. She has experience working in a pediatric therapy setting, working with children of many ages including infants through high school age. Lauren has always been passionate about healthcare and working with children. In her free time she enjoys running, biking and taking walks outdoors with her dog.

Sarah Haggett, M.S., OTR/L

Sarah has over 10 years of clinical experience and joined the team in August of 2022. She has worked in outpatient, inpatient and school settings. She specializes in treating pediatric patients of all ages, with a love for kids on the autism spectrum, with sensory processing challenges, and those struggling with regulatory issues or learning differences. Sarah completed her undergraduate education at Alfred University, and received her master's degree in occupational therapy at Ithaca College - both in her native New York State. She is a certified autism spectrum disorders clinical specialist, and has additional certification in therapeutic listening and interactive metronome. She received mentorship in sensory processing disorders at STAR Institute in Colorado, and additional mentorship in DIR Floortime during her work in clinics and therapeutic day schools in Illinois. She enjoys gardening, cooking, performing improve comedy and long walks with her wife and dog.

Sarah Hirst, MOT, OTR/L

Sarah has been a member of the RUSH Kids team since 2022. She earned a bachelor's degree in occupational sciences followed by a master's degree in occupational therapy from Saint Louis University. She has experience working with children ages 0-18 who have sensory processing and emotional regulation difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, neurological disorders and developmental delays. Sarah enjoys coming up with fun activities and creating a welcoming environment to help everyone succeed in therapy and eager to come to every session.

Taylor Babashka, M.S., CCC-SLP

Taylor has been a member of RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy since 2021. She has experience working with the pediatric population in an outpatient center, as well as patients of all ages in acute care settings. Taylor enjoys creating naturalistic environments for children to achieve functional goals. She has experience working with families to promote effective communication through increasing utterance length, vocabulary use and speech sound repertoire. Taylor received her bachelor's degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and master's degree in communication sciences & disorders from Elmhurst University. Taylor enjoys hiking, biking and playing with her two dogs in her free time.

Kaitlyn Columbia, M.S., SLP

Kaitlyn earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and master's degree in speech, language and learning from Northwestern University. She enjoys working with young children with a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, expressive and receptive language disorders and augmentative and alternative communication. Kaitlyn takes pride in creating a fun and positive environment for children to learn and grow.
