Our Team

Sarah Zayyad, P.T., DPT, CMPT, CDNT, cert-ART

Sarah is a certified manual physical therapist as well as certified in dry needling and active release techniques (ART). Sarah's treatment approach has always been a patient first philosophy, collaborating with her patients to achieve self-directed goals as quickly as possible. She strives to deliver comprehensive, high quality care while making therapy enjoyable for her patients. Sarah puts an emphasis on treating the whole spectrum of an injury as she believes you must determine the cause in order to overcome the effect. Sarah has had great success in treating the injured runner, as she's a runner and duathlete herself. In addition, she is highly versed in treating numerous orthopedic and athletic injuries such rotator cuff, ACL/Meniscus, sacroiliac joint dysfunctions, low back pain and headaches.

Alexandra Gaston, OTR/L, CHT, CLT

Alex is an occupational therapist/certified hand therapist who specializes in treatment of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Her interest areas include traumatic hand injuries, post-operative fracture management, nerve repairs, flexor/extensor tendon repairs and custom orthotic fabrication for various upper extremity injuries. She is a board member of the Chicago metro hand study group which allows her to attend presentations by local hand surgeons to further advance her knowledge and skill set. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading and spending time with her dog, Guinness.

Natalie Estrada, PTA

Natalie graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2018 with her bachelor's in biomedical science and went on to Fox College to become a physical therapist assistant in 2021. Natalie is fluent in Spanish. She has experience treating in a variety of settings including aquatics and enjoys helping individuals with Parkinson's disease with a certification in LSVT-BIG.

Jack Mahay, P.T., DPT

Jack received both his bachelor's in exercise science (2020) and doctorate of physical therapy (2022) from Saint Louis University. Jack was born and raised in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago attending Brother Rice High School. He has an athletic background playing both basketball and volleyball throughout high school. Jack has a particular passion for working with the athletic population and treating sports-related injuries. He also enjoys working with patients with orthopedic conditions notably related to knee and shoulder dysfunction. Jack plans to continue to develop in his professional career by pursuing certifications in manual therapy and dry needling.

Alexis Alzona, LAT, ATC

Alexis graduated in 2018 from Lewis University with a bachelor's degree in athletic training. Alexis then started her career as an athletic trainer at St. Laurence High School in Burbank, IL. This is her 5th year at St. Laurence and first year as part of the RUSH Physical Therapy team. Her favorite part about her role is building those relationships with the athletes throughout the treatment process and then seeing them succeed both on and off the field/court!
