Welcome to RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy. We are located at 2400 N. Sheffield Ave. Chicago, IL, in the DePaul Welcome Center, with private parking available.

We look forward to helping your child with their physical, occupational, speech and applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy needs. Our highly-trained clinical team will design a specialized plan of care that is just right for your child. Through experience, advanced clinical training and clear communication with our patients and their parents, our therapy team will assist your child in achieving their highest potential by reaching their developmental milestones.

We offer specialized programs including Foundations for Learning (an early learning program for children with autism spectrum disorder), feeding, bilingual speech-language and ABA therapy. To learn more about our specialized services, click here.

Our Team

Meredith Krifka, P.T., DPT, C/NDT, Center Manager

Meredith has been a member of RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy since 2017, with five years of clinical experience. She has worked in outpatient pediatrics and in the home through early intervention. Meredith specializes in treating patients with neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy, Rett syndrome, down syndrome and epilepsy. Meredith is also the continuing education director of Chicagoland pediatrics, bringing continuing education courses that are meaningful and applicable to therapists in the market. Meredith completed her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois and doctorate of physical therapy from Northwestern University. She received certification in neuro-developmental treatment in 2019, has maintained it and continues to serve on the membership committee of the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association. She is a strong advocate for functional and meaningful goals that improve the participation and quality of life of the patient and their family.

Anna McFadden, M.S., BCBA, LABA, Assistant Center Manager

Anna is a behavior analyst who has worked in residential programs, intensive day programs and outpatient centers providing ABA therapy to babies, children, adolescents and young adults with autism. Her background in these diverse settings has allowed her to develop a unique and well-rounded set of skills. Anna's experience includes behavior assessment and intervention, functional communication training, skill acquisition, toilet training, parent education and staff training. Anna strives to deliver individualized, effective and compassionate therapy that leads to meaningful outcomes for children with autism and their families.

Elena Sgarbossa, MOT, OTR/L

Elena has been a member of RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy since 2022. She has experience in school-based and outpatient settings. She has worked with patients of all ages, including patients with developmental delays, sensory processing difficulties, impairments in fine/visual motor skills and autism spectrum disorder. Elena completed her undergraduate education and master's degree in occupational therapy at Saint Louis University.

Maggie Knoll, P.T., DPT

Maggie is a physical therapist whose priority is assisting your child in reaching their functional goals through unique and personalized play therapy. Maggie is a strong advocate for collaboration within a child's care team. She actively integrates goals from all other disciplines into her treatment plan. She has a strong interest in treating pediatric orthopedic conditions, as well as working with autistic children. Maggie takes a patient and family-centered approach toward treating children and assisting them in reaching their developmental goals.

Katherine Doyle, P.T., DPT

Katherine is a physical therapist at our DePaul and La Grange center. She completed her last clinical rotation at the RUSH Kids DePaul center where her passion for pediatric therapy was strengthened. She works collaboratively with patients and parents to reach goals and create meaningful change through play-based activities. Katherine creates a welcoming and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable exploring and engaging in therapeutic activities. She enjoys working with the interdisciplinary team and being able to approach each child's care with an individualized and holistic viewpoint.

Kasey Abrahamsen, M.S., CCC-SLP

Kasey completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been a member of the team at RUSH Kids since 2023. Kasey enjoys working with patients of all ages, with areas of special interest in augmentative and alternative communication, multidisciplinary co-treatment and collaboration and assessment. She is dedicated to closely collaborating with each patient's team and family to establish a shared vision and provide comprehensive services specifically tailored to each child's unique strengths and needs.

Allison (Allie) Harvey, O.T.

Allie is a pediatric occupational therapist, joining us in 2023 after graduating from Rush University.

Allie has a passion for working with kids of all ages and abilities to participate and feel successful in the activities they love and need to do every day. She has a special interest in sensory processing, emotional regulation and handwriting.

Elizabeth Kolodiej, SLP

Elizabeth started with Rush Kids in August 2022. Born and raised in Indiana, she received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and furthered her education and received a master's degree from St. Ambrose University. Elizabeth holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as being licensed in the State of Indiana and State of Illinois. Elizabeth has worked with individuals of all ages and abilities in settings that include early intervention/home health, outpatient and hospital. She enjoys working with the interdisciplinary team to best generate a personalized plan of care. Elizabeth is highly motivated and driven to help each child thrive and achieve their goals. She feels fortunate to make changes in the children's and their families' lives. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys time with her family/friends, traveling, going to the beach and riding horses.

Christine Byam, MOT, OTR/L

Christine has been a member of RUSH Kids Pediatric Therapy since 2024. She brings a compassionate and holistic approach to care, drawing from her experience working with both children and adults in hospital and therapeutic settings. Christine believes in using structure, encouragement and meaningful connection to support each child's development, independence and joy in daily life. Christine earned both her undergraduate and master's degree in occupational therapy from Grand Valley State University.

Katie O’Neil, MOT, OTR/L, CTP

Katie received a master's degree in occupational therapy from St. Ambrose University. She focuses on using structure, encouragement and humor to support each child's development and growth. She has experience working in early intervention and outpatient pediatric settings, working with a variety of diagnoses. Katie strives to empower patients in all aspects of their daily lives. She is also a certified trauma professional, specializing in treatments that foster secure attachments and appropriate coping strategies. Katie uses positivity and family-centered approaches to meet the needs of patients and support the entire family.

Rebecca Schumm, MOT, OTR/L

Rebecca joined our Rush Kids Libertyville team as a pediatric occupational therapist in February 2024. Rebecca has three years of pediatric experience working with diverse clinical populations in the school-based and outpatient settings.

Rebecca views each child as a "child of possibilities" and is passionate about providing holistic, family-centered care from a play-based perspective. She has special interests in feeding therapy, pelvic heath and handwriting difficulties.

Rebecca enjoys playing water polo, reading novels and cooking.

Lindsay Honeycutt, BCBA, LBA

Lindsay joined Rush Kids Pediatric Therapy in 2025 and provides applied behavior analysis services to children and adolescents.

Lindsay is an energetic clinician who uses their clients’ interests to make therapy fun and to promote a passion for learning. Their experience includes behavior-analytic assessment and intervention, including functional communication training, skill acquisition, behavior management, and staff training.

Lindsay is looking forward to making a positive impact with a growing number of families as they continue their journey with Rush Kids.

Nick Reetz, M.S., BCBA, IL-LBA

Nick provides applied behavior analysis services to children, young adults and adults with autism across home, school and intensive day program settings. His experience includes assessing functional skills, building function-based behavior plans, supervising behavior technicians, teaching functional communication, addressing daily living skills and training parents.

He works to teach skills and habits that support maximum independence through an engaging therapeutic environment.

Nick applies his experience across diverse settings to support individuals with autism throughout their daily lives.

Hand Therapy

Our certified hand therapists (CHT) provide comprehensive and industry-leading treatment for hand, wrist, arm, elbow and shoulder injuries or conditions. Our team will work with you to create an individualized program to return you to work, life and athletics as soon as possible.

Pediatric Therapy

We offer multi-disciplinary pediatric therapy services – physical, occupational, speech and applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy – to help children reach developmental milestones and their full potential. Therapy methods are typically given in one-on-one sessions, using play-based activities to gain insight into how a child moves, thinks and expresses themselves. Small group therapy also can be helpful for some children to build social skills and communication. Additional specialized programs, such as feeding therapy, sensory/emotional regulation, toe-walking and torticollis, are also available at select locations. We are committed to providing an exceptional experience that enhances each child's participation in desired family, community and school activities.
